Terms & conditions.

The rules of using Wordalo, written as plainly as we can.

Last updated: 21 April 2026

By downloading or using Wordalo you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Who we are

Wordalo is an iOS app published by Chris Hardy, a sole trader based in Manchester, United Kingdom. You can contact us at hello@wordalo.app.

Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Wordalo on any iOS device you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not redistribute the app, reverse-engineer it, or use it in ways that breach Apple's own terms of service.

Free tier

Wordalo is free to download and play. The free tier includes three puzzles a day, drawn from a random themed category each time. The daily count resets at midnight in your local time zone.

Unlock Everything

Wordalo offers one optional in-app purchase, called Unlock Everything. There is no subscription.

Refunds

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple asks us about your refund request we'll usually support it.

Acceptable use

Don't use the app in ways that break UK law, infringe somebody else's rights, or interfere with the operation of the app. Since the app is offline and stores data locally, there's not much you can do wrong, but please don't attempt to tamper with App Store receipts or use modified versions of the app.

Availability

We aim to keep the app running smoothly on current and recent versions of iOS. Older OS versions may lose support over time. Some features (like iCloud sync or AirPrint) depend on services provided by Apple and may be affected if those services change.

Changes to the app

We may update, add to, or occasionally remove features from the app. If we remove something material that was part of the Unlock Everything purchase, we'll tell you and, where appropriate, support you in requesting a refund from Apple.

Changes to these terms

If we make a material change to these terms, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top and give notice on the website. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Liability

Wordalo is provided on an "as is" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and limit our liability to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
