Six familiar puzzles. Built properly.

You get six kinds of puzzle, all of them classics from the back pages of newspapers. Each grid is themed, each clue is written in plain British English, and none of them bother you while you solve.

+

Crosswords

Classic themed crosswords with symmetric grids and straightforward British cluing. If you'd like, the clues can be read aloud.

Q

Word Search

Find the hidden words. Easy, medium, or hard. Diagonals and reverse words are optional if you want a harder grid.

A

Anagrams

Unscramble a jumble of letters to reveal the word. Use a hint if you get stuck. There's no timer, so take as long as you like.

_

Fill In

A single clue and a word with some letters missing. Type in what you think it is. Good for the short gaps in a day.

Word Connect

Draw lines between letters on a wheel to spell words. Find every word that can be made from the set.

1

Codewords

Each letter of the alphabet has been swapped for a number. You get three to start with. Work out the rest one word at a time.

Clear grids. Big type. Clues that make sense. The puzzle page of a good newspaper, on your phone. The Wordalo brief

A puzzle paper with a sense of place.

Every puzzle is drawn from one of fifty themed word packs. The theme changes, the style doesn't. Here are a few of them.

Print the puzzles onto real paper.

With a subscription you can generate a four-page PDF puzzle paper every morning. Word search on page one, crossword on page two, anagrams on page three, solutions on the back.

AirPrint it from your phone, put it in an envelope, or fold it for the train. Some of us still prefer a pencil.

Tester

A quieter sort of puzzle app.

No adverts

Not at the top, not at the bottom, not between levels. If you subscribe, you support the app directly. If you don't, you still get five puzzles a day.

No tracking

Your progress lives on your device and in your own iCloud. We don't operate an analytics server or share anything with anybody.

No confetti

When you solve a puzzle, the app says "solved" and moves on. There are no animations designed to make a toddler happy.
